It's not easy to train myself to spend within budget. I tend to overspend because at the of the month when my account balance is decreasing to RM10, then only i realize i shouldn't have bought some of the things i spent with my money. Sighs.
But recently, i have started to spend strictly on budget. I immediately save 30% of my income and use the rest to pay up things and to spend on weekends. Only that way i can make sure i have some money left for rainy days. And yes, i save it in a bank with no ATM card facility.
And i also have started to have a moneybox to save some extra cash i have left from shopping, etc. Just a small step for me to remind myself that i have to save how much ever is left (Sedikit-sedikit, lama-lama jadi bukit, remember?) and in hoping that my kid(s) will follow suit. And i can fork out that money for emergency. Bagus kan?
And another tips i got from the net is, spend money for dinner/lunch date at fancy restaurants only at the end of the month instead of early of the month when people receive their payroll. Meaning that, we will only spend money on upscale restaurants if and only if we have extra cash at the end of the month. It means that expensive food is not a priority anymore. Something that my husband and i should must implement. Lol.
FYI, a child alone costs us almost one grand per month. We are planning to have three, so imagine how much money we have to make for our kids. For formula milk, food, diapers, insurance, clothes (they outgrow their clothes too fast), toys, clinic and hospital visits (they sure get sick every month). And soon when the kids are getting bigger, we have to spend more on their education, pre-schools are all expensive, piano lesson, swimming lesson, Al-Quran class, Mandarin class and what not. This is the main reason i want to start saving early and as much as i can.
Okay, that's the update for now. I am taking a 20-minute break to perform prayer, for this and FB after a full day of preparing lecture notes. Till then dolls, bye.
